There are a very decent pair of cheap over-the-ear headphones. They exert a certain amount of pressure on the ears that can be irritating if I wear them for long periods of time, however I got used to them after a couple of weeks. They sound pretty good with most kinds of music; I haven't found a situation where I wasn't pleased with the way they sound. The only reason I wouldn't recommend these is that they aren't the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn. If you're looking for a really comfortable pair of headphones these might not be the best choice. However, for the price it's hard to complain.
The only negative aspect that I could mention is that even thought the bass response is really prominent, the bass starts to deteriorate at higher levels (probably due to the fact my receiver is rated at 170 watts per channel). Absolutely excellent headphones for the price. However, one must remember that hearing damage WILL occur at higher listening levels (hence, I really should not be listening at higher levels myself.do as I say, not as I do.). Crystal clear highs / excellent low range response as well. Lightweight, comfortable and they stay comfortable after wearing for long periods of time. However, my listening preference is full bass/treble. Would I recommend this set to a friend, most definitely.
There is a HUGE PROBLEM though, well technically small. Ok I've owned this for about a month now. The headphones REALLY REALLY AREN'T COMFORTABLE. For the buck there's a great bang. I'm not an audiophile the sound quality is good but not amazing. After an hour or less my ears really hurt and i feel like my ears are internally bleeding. I really wish Senheisser would just produce bigger ear cuffs considering how great the rest of the products are.
I bought them for my son for his birthday and made the mistake of borrowing them. I can't hear the outside world and they can't hear my world no matter how loud it is. They were a lot lighter on than I expected. And that all sounds great. They are light weight and nicely adjustable. And they KEEP IT IN. :)I attend college and my computer is in the living room.
Many times I need to drown out the other noises so I can concentrate. These fit perfectly around my ears and block the sound. These are the best sounding headphones EVER. I use them with my iPod. You get a really full and rich sound. I like a lot of Techno, Dance, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, 80s band music. so it seems really silly to put my iPod in the other room just because the cord is long enough.
I HATE treble. I was hooked.I have bought a pair for myself. I wish they would make some sort of terry-cloth cover for the "ear cups" but I suppose that is just the really uncool mom in me.I only gave them 4 stars under ease of use because the dang cord is so long. I LOVE bass. The bass sounds fantastic and no annoying highs. however, I know that is what a lot of people really like. :)
I love these headphones.I use my Sennheiser HD-202's at work mostly, and they drown out any type of surrounding noise while I listen. Though they may be a little "bassy" I still love them. They fit great too and cover my entire ear with no problem.I would definitely recommend these before I'd pay upwards of $100.00 for anything else.
